Courting Forgetfulness from Across by Jack DeSalvo

Besides being self-effacing and engaged in multitudinous other pursuits, Matt Lambiase is simply one of the finest trumpet/flugelhorn/cornet players in the wider music world. Here he plays with the remarkable guitarist and composer Jack DeSalvo in a set of what can only be described as chamber jazz. Though both recognized as preeminent practitioners of modern jazz, they each have roots in classical music which gives this session its chamber sheen. Lending additional importance to this album is that it is likely the final recording, certainly the final Unseen Rain recording, done at Beanstudio, manned by the late Jim DeSalvo and mixed and mastered by Larry Hutter.

JACK DeSALVO developed his extraordinary guitar style from a deep immersion into jazz, classical guitar and his own prolific compositional output. He has studied with Bill Connors, Leonid Bolotine, Ariada Mikéshina, George Russell and at Berklee. He is a professional musician, composer, recording artist and record producer for Unseen Rain Records. He has toured the world with many jazz greats.
