Lyrics
Emotional knives cut and shards of gossip
Explode, blown out of proportion
leave a mangled mess
My mouth starts talking when I don't know what to say
So I say Hey, did you know that so and so
today you know who where to go
He’s a this, she’s a that
It’s not too late to take it back and
Chorus- Everybody’s living in glass house
but we just can’t help from throwing stones
Everybody’s living in glass houses
and everybody’s scared to be alone
Whisper and giggle, pointing a finger
Group mentality, smell the blood, feeding frenzy
Gather ‘round, kick ‘em when they’re down
In the end, what goes around comes around now
Chorus
Origin Story
My cousin Adam said the opening line of this song directed at me.
“Emotional knives cut”
For a lot of my life I have back stabbed and belittled or just said anything to get a laugh, no matter how it might affect someone.
His words made me think long and hard. I wrote the song fairly quickly ( a couple of days) but never got to play it for him as he died not long after.
Thank you Adam for your friendship and honesty at a time when I severely needed it. I wish I could have been there for you as well.
