Virtual Troubadour from Digital Carnival by Jason Didner
The Coronavirus pandemic that broke out in 2020 disrupted live music as it disrupted so many other facets of life around the globe. Musicians and other entertainers adjusted by giving live streaming performances for appreciative audiences who couldn't get out t a live music venue. We adapted and found other ways to gather and socialize around this live music.
I've given online performances before, dating back to 2004 when even the audio-only technology was crude. But the pandemic gave the art of online performance a new sense of urgency. "Virtual Troubadour" is an ode to my fans around the world who showed up to participate in my concerts, make requests, and chat with each other.
