While many of us think of Adon Olam as the big triumphant song that concludes Shabbat services, this well known prayer by 11th century poet Shlomo ibn Gabirol ends with the beautiful lullaby, “Into Your hands, I place my soul, when I sleep and when I wake, And with my soul, I shall remain, God is near, I shall not fear…”
