A 1981 hit for Canada's Ian Thomas, from his 1981 album The Runner. Santana's version (from their album Shango) became a hit the following year. Both versions are straight-ahead rockers, but Jim takes a mellower approach.
DownBeat Magazine called Jim's music “warm, happy and soulful.” His albums have charted internationally, and he won three national awards with The Clayton/Scott Group. He's been heard on radio, in film, and on TV.
As music director with The Second City, Jim entertained audiences around the globe. He began streaming nightly at the start of the pandemic, and garnered 30,000 new online followers.
