Lyrics

I was a wounded boy, I was a wounded son
Alone in an evil world, afraid I had no one
No one that I could count on, no one I’d call a friend
And I was sure that this would be my life until the bitter end

Chorus
I lost myself in music, I went deep into my mind
I battled every dragon of every type and every kind
Sometimes I was a victor, sometimes I met defeat
Sometimes it turned to war, sometimes I felt so beat

The sky at first was blue, then the sky turned white
Then the sky turned grey, then the blue black of the night
Sometimes it was so dark, but sometimes the way was lit
By the bright stars and the moon, that would lead as they saw fit

Repeat Chorus

What’s the moral of the story, what’s the point in all this prose?
All my friends are arguing, the point of which nobody knows
My mind has been deflated from the hammering of opinions
Of everyone on earth, from kings and queens to minions

Repeat Chorus

Sometimes the dragon’s huge and it breathes fire
The flames reach to the sky like a giant funeral pyre
The strength of all the world is what’s needed for its defeat
So it can crumble down and fall like hail upon the street

The armies will move in and the nations go to war
The smile that lit your face will seem gone forever more
If you want to keep the sun, if you want to keep the moon
Then lose yourself in music, and write a lovely tune!
