Welcome to my EP joon. I am so proud of this work, because this is something that is completely self-lead. I've worked with a lot of people on my original music in the past, but I wanted a chance to lead myself this time. Not only to prove to myself that I can do it, but also to make sure that my work is coming completely from the heart.
I haven't worked with anyone who has limited my expression, but it's only natural to hide parts of yourself when company is present. Here, I enlisted help of great producers, musicians, and artists, but was able to come from an undeniably authentic place.
Listen when you're in your feelings, anticipating the next retrograde, or healing from a past relationship. I hope you find solace in the lyrics, and let the music move your soul.

Joy Hackett is an emerging artist and producer from the Bay Area who specializes in vocals and keyboards. The instrumentation of her groups vary from duos (herself, and drums), to full bands including horns and backup vocals. She studied jazz and music technology and uses that education to bring her own sound to R&B and Soul styles through original music and covers.
