After hearing Jay-Z’s “Blue Magic,” I was inspired to make a quirky, minimalist beat a la The Neptunes. And as sort of an answer to that song, I wrote about some of the things I’ve done to rustle up some extra loot. Not every hustler runs the streets. Some become entrepreneurs. And I know some of these things aren’t very dignified, but dignity can’t pay the rent or put gas in my tank. I wrote a song years ago dealing with this same issue. Actually, I’ve written a few songs like that. And don’t ask about that Spider-Man comic: I’ve already sold it.
