Sycamore Tree by Julinko
This new year's eve I saw an acoustic guitar, felt in love and brought her home.
Then learnt she was made of sycamore, a dark red-orange resistant wood native of Africa and naturally growing also in some regions of the Middle East.
The Sycamore tree is present in ancient Egyptian and Jewish myths as a symbol for immortality: linked to the ancient deity Hathor, used to build sarcophaguses as the inside of the plant could hold the body on its transition to the netherworld....
A new song came out, engendered by these stories and by the radiance of this material, my little way to thank and celebrate this sacred plant:
