To Pianos by Eve Risser & Kaja Draksler
We might almost be observing surgery, as they stand working deftly over the innards of their instruments. But at the same time, there’s a kind of glee in the experimentation itself, and this is where the music is assuredly different from surgery: an often-mischievous, always curious ‘what happens if I do this?’ attitude pervades this collaboration, and I for one am happy if doctors don’t think in this way.

I was born in a small village in Slovenia and grew up in the countryside.
At the age of 18 I moved to The Netherlands to study music. A few years later, I was immersed into the rich world of Amsterdam’s improvised music scene, which complemented my studies of classical composition in a great way. After 13 years in Holland, I now live between Copenhagen, Denmark, and Trboje, Slovenia.
