Lullaby by Kate Daisy Grant
This is an album about love and connection, a quiet political statement on our similarities in times of conflict, by surrounding the listener with layered fragments of lullabies from all over the world, sung in harmony and counterpoint with each other, highlighting through music that 'we have more in common than that which divides us' (Jo Cox).
It also draws on the new cutting edge science of attachment theory, which states that our sense of calm and safety in the world can be enhanced by listening to the frequency band 'that mothers have used to calm their babies by singing lullabies' (Polyvagal Theory by Dr Stephen Porges).
As from April, 50% of profits from this album will go to www.nhsherosupport.co.uk fundraising to provide high quality PPE for our frontline healthcare workers during the COVID-!9 pandemic until further notice.
