My first stab at what I think is proper ambient music - ie dronings and hums and hazy distances. Too close to it and no idea if it's any good - but when in doubt I like to make things so excrutiatingly long that they become a forbidding monolith - no one will ever hear it from beginning to end (including me) but in a million years it will be one of those classics that no one ever reads or hears or sees or visits or even knows about, just like today.
