very very minimal/repetitive - though there is a lot of variety going on in the inaudible background - it's one of those Bugger-It albums where I spent hours flaffing around with detail and things just got worse and in the end I just grabbed a random bit and put it on repeat over the top of everything and just that brutal simplicity knocked it all into shape - whether it's a good shape or not, well, even I have my doubts, and I am its biggest fan - but right now I'd not be in the mood for it even if it was fabulously brilliant -
- that's because after wandering around Lymington and the sea wall etc today I went to see West Side Story at last. The cinema was surprisingly full - the fullest afternoon cinema I've been in all year - I seriously think I was the youngest person there - I sat at the front, everyone else didn't, people sang along quietly and sighed behind me, I could tell everyone enjoyed it, I admit that I (an easy crier) shed a tear or two, especially when the old lady sang Somewhere. But but but, though it was great, I came out realising that I'd been secretly expecting it to be even greater - and having that music in my head and that feeling in my heart, that is maybe why there was no way I could ever make anything today that'd sound like I'd not been wasting my time this evening
