I asked the man behind the counter for a pack of cigarettes
tried quittin' long ago but I get this craving now and then…

it’s more than just a habit
at this point I’ve gotta have it
I can’t control myself
yeah I know all the consequences
just gotta get this out of my system
even though it hurts more than it helps

I swore that I would never start
but I struck a match and lit one up
reigniting memories
praying you’ll come back to me
if only I could drag this out
and keep your flame alive somehow
but I come to my senses in the end
I’m hooked once again
on these damned ol' cigarettes

so if I feel like cryin'
I can blame the smoke in my eyes
as I watch each one burn down
I won’t stop until it fills the room
'cause the scent of Parliament perfume
is the only fix for what I’m feeling now
