there was an AM country station that my grandpa dearly loved
he had it playing every time I hopped into his truck
he taught me ‘bout good livin’ from a two-lane Texas road
and from then I became an old soul

I was raised to count my blessings, you could never work too hard
to do all things with love, and put your trust in faith and God
it’s a shame that when I look around, I don’t see that no more
I guess that’s what makes me an old soul

it's just about appreciatig everything you have

I know that times are different, and the world is bound to change
