Lyrics
A boy, all alone in a desert
Accompanied by only his thoughts
Cries out a girls name so viscously
That the dunes around him all shudder with sorrow
And as tears roll down his red face,
And as they begin to drip softly onto the sand,
The air around him turns cold and bitter,
As the Sun falls beneath the horizon
The boy can’t move, he stops walking
He sits on the ground and he begins to prays
He asks for health, and light, and some warmth
He asks for her to be returned to him
And somewhere miles away, a girl sits on her bed
Looking at photos of her and an old friend
Wondering why she treated him the way that she did
And wondering why, she ever let him go
And they feel a connection
Someway, somehow
Even though separated by sand, and city, and forest
Deep down they know, that they still love each other, more than anything
He’s made it this far, all just to see her again
He’s crossed the country, he now stands in the desert
He thinks he might as well go, and see her again
No matter their story, or what she did to him
This connection grows
His heart beats faster
He stands up, and begins to run to his car
And from this old desert road in the middle of nowhere,
He speeds away, with dust flying behind him
The Moon begins to race with the stars across the sky,
She can’t sleep as he begins to race closer
And she can’t move from her bed,
Just in case he shows up, she thought, just in case
As he marches up the apartment stairs,
They both feel the connection grow stronger
Memories come flooding back to them
And as he knocks on the door, the dam is opened
And then those brown eyes, are suddenly staring him down
Neither of them get a word out, as their eyes remain wide
And there’s a lump in their throats
They realize their connection has gone dark
As dark as the abyss, in which their love has fallen into
