POPOF has notched up a huge and impressive catalogue of music over the last 15 years. Releases for Cocoon Recordings, Truesol, Turbo Recordings and remixes for Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers and Moby, to name just a few, has firmly established the Parisian producer amongst the electronic dance community. On this new single for Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains label, a couple of slammers are served up.
On ‘Revival’, razor sharp hi-hats clatter across a pumping kick groove, as old skool vocal hits rhythmically cavort around frenzied rave stabs. A gargantuan breakdown marks this one out to be the full-blown club banger it’s designed to be! Accompanying track, ‘I Thought It Was Over’, similarly plays on the high intensity energy levels carved out, as brash vocal samples and hoovering synths swell to brain scrambling levels.
Coined originally as an offshoot label to Dense & Pika's self penned label, Kneaded Pains has now taken off into it’s own orbit with a slew of Techno weaponry from new and established artists alike in the shape of Mark Henning, Melody’s Enemy, ONNO, VONDA7 (et al), each release custom made to ignite those tougher leaning dance-floors.
