ON TOUR!!! by The Krontjong Devils

It has been said that a recording artist's professional life is very short. Succes comes fast but so does oblivion. It has also been said that in the recording profession the artist burns out early because the quick succes the business affords also corrupts.

It has been said - but it won't, when it comes to The krontjong Devils. Succes came fast for the group and with money, fame and adulation. But the boys didn't lose touch with their audience. During their first American trip, the boys were careful to stay true to their humble beginnings. In order to better communicate with their fans, they passed on offers of jet planes and corporate sponsorships and rode from city to city on their trusty bikes.

The groups off-work moments were spent tracking down great surf and rock n' roll artists. Many hours were spent browsing about and buying in record shops.
Unfortunately, they could only carry so many titles on their backs. On this disc The Krontjong Devils are still able to pay tribute to some of their favorite artists like The Toads, Teenbeats and Newport Nomads. While cycling, they also developed a fondness for many other sports. This is reflected in their heartfelt renditions of "Skateboard U.S.A." and "White Water".

These Devil-may-care fellows have also composed two tunes especially for this album. "Reverberovska" was Kees de Vries' rallying cry for the group when a member would begin to tire on tour. Buoyed by this comraderie, they furiously pedaled on! "Aprés Ski", composed by drummer Jan Pier Brands, thoughtfully articulates The Krontjong Devils newfound sports obsession.

One listen to this album and we're sure that you'll agree that The Krontjong Devils are in better shape, musically and physically, than they've ever been! From the opening notes of "Gotcha" to the last chorus of "Surfer Joe" you are sure to be impressed as I was. The vibrant rock n' roll outfit has proven they are no flash in the pan! In every city it was the same... crowds, excitement, police barricades ans standing room only. Look for The Krontjong Devils to come to your country soon and learn the real meaning of the term "Dutch Treat"!
