Latent Frisson by K. Sherwood Chambers

My experience with music started out while I was young, exposed, and listening, to a vast range of music styles; from Rock n’ Roll to Classical, Jazz, early synthesis and all those wonderful sounds being made from around the world; introducing me to cultures I would have otherwise not experienced in my youth. In my teens, I was as excited to see Jeff Beck play as much as I was to see Andrés Segovia or Ravi Shankar perform. My early music education, in my teens [although not formal in the beginning] exposed me to very much the same array of musical styles and then much more. I’ve carried these listening experiences with me throughout life, always striving to hear more, learn more. A planet filled with music [and sounds] that influence how I approach making music. Despite my rock-roots as a young man, I still gravitate to the European masters of the past four hundred years; learning from their accomplishments. Upon listening to this album, you might hear that influence, but under the surface, weaving through the currents, take note that this isn’t about yesteryear’s music, but instead it’s about our experience with a larger universe of music, of sounds. Possibilities. The studio as an instrument, musique concrete, the digital intertwined with the organic. All that is within reach is open to my palette.
