Athoth EP by Silver October
As part of the initial rollout of Kulture Lab's EP series, DJ Silver October presents tracks in her "Athoth" EP, equally fit for the basement raves she DJ's as well as the ballroom runways that inspired the project. Bringing together samples and drum sequences from every crevice of dance music, Silver emphasises dance floors over all else on her newest rave project.
Back-alley DJ and Chicago breakbeat gunslinger, Silver October is the trigger-happy moniker of producer/bassist Hayes Hagedorn. Raised on experimental and progressive rock, Silver October brings together footwork-esque drum sequencing with iridescent melodies in her rave work, ensuring the music is danceable above all else.
Working also as the vocalist/producer of digital hardcore duo Kill Mountain and the bassist of psych-rock collective The Phonecall, Silver's work in Chicago's underground streaks across genres as it does names.
We're happy to introduce the "jungle wizard" of youth EDM culture.
