Lyrics

To him who walks with fire I offer all I’ve got
So my light may shine brighter In the grim, unhallowed night.

To see the open pastures I took his hand and went
Through crops, irr’gated orchards and woodland clear and bright.

He told a tale of nurture and living with the land.
On sun-rayed hills enchanted By the lark in the Western sky.

There is the need to save the duty to preserve
To give your light and power To a land else fouled awry.

How green the grass How sweet the sound.

Into the black forest we go Confined by silence
Enraptured by the powers of yore Our torched we quench.
There’ll be no peace There’ll be no peace ‘cause we made the terms by ourselves.

This sense of nature, safe ‘till the sun goes down.
You’re no saviour.
This sense of nature kills once the light’s burn low.
No salvation.
Don’t forget to breathe when the lights begin to fade.
Only make rid of what’s yours.

Our weakling hearts, half fearing their relief,
Give in to the blackness, praise its sudden grief.
The dark reveals the petty saves we grant
Beneath wind in the branches wailing its ever chant.
Into the black forest we go.
