Coming a whole month after previous opus, "The Great Southern", Laurie Shaw's third long player of 2022 wrangles with French pop across two whole sides of vintage, un-chartable rock and roll about the town of Kenmare, a real jewel in the crown of County Kerry.
Side One conjures abstract collages of dream-like images. We help direct a tourist towards the stone circle, have a think about what pre-teen crushes are up to these days, feel a bit guilty about not being receptive enough to an ex-loves sexual advances by an abandoned car and walk around listening to Leonard Cohen's Death Of A Ladies Man.
Side Two features four straight narratives about obsession, school trips to the Burren, parallel dimensions and having it away on compact pieces of furniture.
