Blue Jeans by Layton Wu
BLUE JEANS, a pair of plain and unremarkable blue denim pants, easily worn at any time, ready to go anywhere. They hold within them tiny memories, snippets of experiences, and moments of personal growth, all immortalized in the stains and tears that adorn the denim.
Having said all that, this primarily documents my thoughts over the past four years living in the United States. Since releasing "Summertime," "Honey Ginger Tea," and "Midnight Dance," along with numerous other musical compositions, I acquired an acoustic guitar in 2021. It became the catalyst for my debut album, expressing sentiments of lyricism, introspection, romance, and the everyday aspects of life. The focus mainly revolves around reflecting on my past self, pondering whether there has been any change and questioning if I have become a better person. As for the future blueprint, having experienced more, I am better equipped to outline what I desire. In terms of music production, I transitioned from solely playing and recording everything myself to incorporating string, woodwind, keyboard, and percussion players into the production process, resulting in a more mature and enriched sound.
