Scaphoids by Loren Chasse
Having broken the scaphoid bone in each of my wrists (as well as both trapezia and radial bones), summer has taken a sharp turn. My plans for the drum set and most other projects are over for now. So, bittersweetly, I've spent the past few weeks editing and mixing some pre-accident recordings featuring my wrists (as if there are music-making actions that leave the wrist alone?).
As a friend said, now is the time for working on my kick drum/hi hat skills.
The paper collages were made in defiance of scaphoids nagging.
Collaborations with myself, recorded at unique ancient tavern, Portland, OR, spring 2020.
