Pride
This is the first day of the rest of my life.
I’m not fond of what’s left behind.
It was just inertia, that fear that prevents us
from rising up against our own lives.
But I'd rather regret the things I’ve done than the things I haven't.
At times we choose to stay on the easiest path,
like dead fish we go with the flow.
And if we try to go upstream, fighting against the current,
we never get to the sea we love.

I learned that pride comes before the fall,
and I’m getting tired of falling down.

Orgullo
Este es el primer día del resto de mi vida,
no tengo mucho afecto por lo que atrás queda.
Es tan solo inercia,
ese miedo que nos impide rebelarnos contra nosotros mismos.
Prefiero arrepentirme de lo que haya hecho a arrepentirme de lo que dejé de hacer.
A veces elegimos seguir el camino más fácil,
como los peces muertos que arrastra la corriente.
Y si intentamos remontar las aguas, luchando contra el río,
jamás llegamos al mar que anhelamos.
Este es el primer día del resto de mi vida.
No estoy orgulloso del pasado.
Aprendí que el orgullo siempre precede a la caída,
y ya estoy cansado de caer.
