“I don’t know what scares me more, outer space, or the depths of the world’s oceans. Thinking of either concept can send me into a state of existential dread. The vast and not fully understood void of space is probably more terrifying. However the dark, cold and mysterious sea floor is close enough to us to make me uneasy."
"Inspired in part by Axial Seamount, an underwater volcano located off of the coast of Oregon. Axial Seamount is said to pose no danger to us on land. Nonetheless, the sheer concept of undersea volcanoes and hydrothermal vents freaks me out. These monsters are deep and generally harmless, but fear knows no reason.

'Eternal Hydrothermal' is a meditative ode to these weird, hot belching beasts under the sea. These undersea vents support a surprising amount of life. They seem inhospitable but many creatures thrive near them.
In 'Oblivious Research Vessel Crew Throws A Party', I imagined a group of young scientists out on a research vessel. Perhaps they are drinking and having a birthday party for a colleague. Far below the surface, the earth is venting and breathing. Ancient and terrifying forces are at work that the humans above cannot fathom.
'Geothermal Hellmouth' is a reminder that the earth is hot and furious on land too. Some describe the Earth is one massive living organism. What if our Mother wanted to eradicate us? Volcanic activity on a massive scale would probably do the trick. This track is quite long and as it was created, I was thinking of the unsettling geothermal and volcanic activity that takes place on land.”
