Perhaps a reflection of paternal influence,
The ego’s acts of righteousness continue on.
When I wonder why loss is the only result,
I remember that the planets revolve around the sun.
Perhaps reminiscent of maternal influence,
Emotion is intrinsically woven into thought.
When I wonder why agony is the only result,
I remember that we live by what we are taught.
If comfort and anxiousness distract from progress,
Then the same can be said about analyzation.
And as the horrors of the world so openly display,
Forgetting is followed by pain and deception.
If Music is my lover,
Then they’re all just a tease.
But just as that statement is fallacious,
Pain does not always need to be relieved.
And when I realize I’m forgetting,
And my ego and pain linger in a trance,
I ask myself: can one truly know if they’re falling, or progressing,
While the cosmos continue to dance?
