Chapter 1 – Threshold
I remember the moment my pulse became an echo,
A single note vibrating beyond my skin.
Time softened its grip, and space unraveled.
The ceiling dissolved into a silent expanse.
I hovered there, unsure which way was up.
One foot anchored, the other already gone.

Chapter 2 – Departure
The air grew bright around my fading outline.
A quiet invitation pulled me forward.
Not a voice, but something deeper than language.
I felt the sum of every breath I’d ever taken.
And then I was weightless, unbound by memory.
Leaving was simpler than I ever imagined.

Chapter 3 – Observation
From above, I watched my own stillness.
A body without urgency or pain.
A shell waiting for my decision.
It was strange to see myself as artifact.
Nothing tragic, just the closing of a door.
A threshold I could cross or decline.

Chapter 4 – The Corridor
There was a corridor without walls.
Light flowing like water under my feet.
I followed it into an expanding horizon.
Every step a question without an answer.
A place beyond time, yet intimately familiar.
Somehow I knew it had always been waiting.

Chapter 5 – Memory Constellations
Memories rose around me like constellations.
Each one a star in my private cosmos.
Moments I thought I’d forgotten shimmered back.
First laughter, last goodbyes, unfinished prayers.
They asked nothing—only glowed in recognition.
I drifted among them, part witness, part child.

Chapter 6 – Surrender
I felt the temptation to surrender completely.
To dissolve into the warmth beyond the veil.
It promised peace so absolute it erased longing.
A release from every burden I had carried.
And yet, something small and persistent remained.
A thread of will refusing to let go.

Chapter 7 – The Voice
At last, a voice rose from the quiet.
Not a command, but a simple question:
Are you finished?
I couldn’t answer. I only felt.
A tidal wave of love and regret at once.
I knew this was the moment to decide.

Chapter 8 – Return
Breath returned like a distant thunder.
A reminder that I was not done here.
Gravity reclaimed my weightless form.
Heartbeat rekindled in the dark.
I fell back into my waiting body.
Eyes opening to the ordinary miracle of air.

Chapter 9 – Renewal
The world was unchanged, but I was not.
Colors saturated with impossible clarity.
Every sound a testament to being alive.
I carried the memory of that other place.
A secret proof that death is only a doorway.
And that here, for now, is enough.

Chapter 10 – Here Today
So I wake each morning in quiet astonishment.
Grateful for the gift of another sunrise.
Aware that I am here today—still breathing.
Still learning what it means to stay.
Every moment a choice to remain awake.
Every heartbeat a promise renewed.
