touching cold by gallion
"touching cold" is the second studio album from gallion. 8 tracks exploring more tenebrous areas of music and largely impregnated with an imagery of ancient rituals and medieval life. it makes a greater usage of percussions (gong and timpani). I think that the track "unatural" which I describe as "metalwave" gave the sound orientation of the whole album when starting mixing.
Except "gold thieves" which contains an incredible drummer performance, tracks are rather low tempo and invite to a calm listening experience oscillating between darkness and more luminous moments with each tracks.
most of the songs were composed around 2011, recorded in Lyon in 2012 and mixed end of 2013 at Kerwax studios in French Britany using an old and unique philips polygram mixing console.
