This week, MalLabel Music is dropping a quintet of bass business from the hood with a splash of lyrical goods to bring some Hip-Hop flavor into the mix. From North Lake, Tahoe we are pleased to present, Kowta.
If Kowta is a name you have not heard yet, then it might be time to start watching a little more closely. From the bass heavy to the beautiful and dank to thoughtful, his Soundcloud is already rich with diversity in his barely 2 years of musical creations. As wealthy in number, the drive to share his love of vibrational expression is clear and though he might be just starting out, he has already garnered himself tours and shows with Stylust Beats, NiT GriT and one of his continuing inspirations, Nico Luminous. Now he's back with some fresh new fiya to usher in an early spring from all this winter weather chaos.
His new EP Phases gets deep into the darkness with some fat rides on some of those meaty 808 basslines we've all fallen back in love with. 'Inside Your Head' features linguistic artistry by Dylano riding on sinking rhythms and waves of hoover bass leading to the title track's continuations of these sounds twisted into digital dreams and gameboy nightmares. 'Quesotrilla' brings a touch of beauty to the mix before blasting it into the psychedelic abyss while 'The Whole Crew' takes an eastern vibe through the same treatment all the while twisting vocal stabs around your head as 'Westside' takes them to the darkness for a final trip into oblivion. Be ready to get trippin' into a realm outside our own.
