sketchbook by mandala eyes
a collection of sketches--spontaneous, open-ended explorations of imagination and emotion.
each song was performed live with electric guitar & pedalboard, recorded in one continuous take with no overdubs. this took place at a rate of one song per few weeks, over the time from early 2015 (in a tiny apartment in Winter Park, Florida) on through summer of 2016 (by then, in a cabin on Sweet Pea Farm, Mt Desert Island, Maine). in summer 2017 I went back to master these raw sketch tracks, and also did some light editing for structure and texture.
the result is a newly-bound sketchbook of non-overthought compositions, raw, but now also paced well enough that they're listenable all together as a cohesive album.
