Shine from Shine by Mark Hervey
This song is another that came to me fairly quickly and hasn’t changed since I first wrote it at the end of September 2024. It’s dedicated to both of my (now adult) kids who have taught me more about life than any other humans I know. I remember I happened to have my guitar capo way up on the 5th fret because I’d been practicing Under The Milky Way by The Church for a gig and I started just playing the initial chords and the words just spilled out. The first demo I can find is from September 30th and I added the piano a week or so later, but much of that original demo remains in the final recording including much of the 1st take vocal.
