Maston returns with his new single Foreign Affairs, backed with Liaison. Recorded in London and Paris, Foreign Affairs dives deeper into Maston’s signature avante-lounge sound, with Bacharach-esque flourishes and champagne bubbles galore.
The B-side Liaison evokes an equally romantic sentiment, with an exotica inspired string section and a haunting piano melody, conjuring a bloody sunset on a deserted beach (as visualized in the clip by Pacôme Henry).
Both tracks were composed, arranged and produced by Frank Maston and feature over a dozen musicians, including Oscar Sholto Robertson on drums and frequent collaborator Elie Ghersinu on bass. Foreign Affairs will be available digitally on April 11th, with a 7” vinyl release coming this summer on BeWith Records.
