I'm so proud to release my debut album Inner Cosmos - hopefully the first of many more to come.

Over the last couple of years I've dived headlong into the world of synths and this has influenced my listening habits too. You may hear traces of Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, Cluster, John Carpenter, Goblin and Vangelis throughout this album but hopefully it stands on its own two feet as an original collection of tracks.

Many of the pieces on the album felt like soundtracks to imaginary movies in my mind. Some were even inspired by existing movies.
I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

Australian soundscapist’s darkly compelling debut.

Perhaps it shouldn’t be surprising that someone who’s a voiceover artist in his day job should choose to release an instrumental album as his first foray into writing and performing his own music. To be fair, Matt Goodluck is also the frontman of Australian tribute act Echoes of Pink Floyd, so he’s obviously no slouch on the vocal front, but Inner Cosmos instead unashamedly takes its stylistic cues from classic electronica and soundscape artists such as Tangerine Dream, John Carpenter and Vangelis.
He channels those influences skillfully on pieces such as the Eno-esque found sounds of Into the Blue and the rain-flecked vistas of Deckard’s Requiem. Better still is the eerily atmospheric Rated R, with added macabre colour from time-honoured horror film staples of hyperventilating pursuit and slamming chapel doors creeping out from noirish, pulsing waves of techno. At times, his clips from vintage sci-fi and news reels are reminiscent of contemporaries such as Public Service Broadcasting, bus his way of enticing the listener into an immersive world of sound is more ambient in feel, inviting you to close your eyes and be transported.
