The Window by Matthew Hassell

This project plays like a flip book of sound images captured through my only window as the isolation times of the 2020 pandemic unfolded.

Window as aperture, collecting memory fragments.

My favorite paintbrush is a microphone.

As a traditionally trained visual artist working in sound, my work centers around creating listening experiences that confront an aural perception of one's own body in space.

They are meeting places, field recorded fragments forming a communal experience within the imagination of the listener.
