Blue, always it was you
Walk the lines in empty queues
Hoping for a sign, a clue
A path, to fill the empty space
Something you can taste
To hide the bitterness of waste

But you, it’s something that you do
And you don’t have a clue
What lies beneath is much too deep for you to see

You think that underneath it all
Is something you control
A terminator’s soul
A hole, to fill
With empty thoughts of you
The things you make her do
Decide the girl she’ll be today

And you say, they’ll only love you if
And you shouldn’t say those things
And why’d you wear that smile
You look as though you’re hiding something

Blue, always it was you
Old, familiar friend
You hide your face amidst the empty smiles so well
But I, I recognise your eyes
Ancient now and wiser than the first time that we met

And it’s true, the emptiness prevails
The truth is so surreal
It blinds an ever faithful eye from what she thought she saw
And you, you would take her soul
And swallow it all whole
And smile and ask if there were any more to bargain for
