Black Ceremony by Metamorphic Mindphase
Black Ceremony is a project begun in 2021 and periodically worked on over time. This work explores new worlds of sound for Metamorphic Mindphase. The listener will find this release somewhat dissimilar from previous releases with different instrumentation and approaches in composition. Guest artists Bonnie McNairn of Voice of Eye(#) and Enrique Ugalde of Soriah(*) graciously add vocals to four of the tracks. Their contributions produce a majestic, gothic atmosphere where light and dark share the same spacious expanse.
I have found that each project has a sound that is revealed as the work unfolds and develops. This flows through me as I am merely its facilitator. The projects have a life of their own and a unique voice that they want to express. The act of creation comes through me because something has a need to be birthed, to be expressed, to be shared, to be brought into this world. It comes from a deep mystery. If there has been a theme to my life, it is to explore, mine, revel, reveal, this vast, infinite mystery. It is endlessly fascinating. Art is a portal to this unknown.
