EZY6266 by Autopoetik
Born of drone produced by airplanes and other sonic phenomena associated with air travel, EZY6266 is an amalgam of field recordings captured in the course of several flights which are rendered into an amorphous collage of sonic fantasies. This underlying sonic material is further expanded upon by interventions of various musical instruments and sonic objects which find themselves clenched amidst down-to-earth verbal instructions of the aircrew coercing us to obey safety regulations and other announcements which effectively transform us, airplane passengers, into “docile bodies”. It is in this peculiar situation that the thrill from the unknown is intensified even more by our attempts to shake off the shackles imposed upon us by these verbal commands and find escape in the endless universe of sound. While our bodies are rigorously kept in our seats, our minds are set free and wonder away in search of the elusive manifestations of the unknown.
