Abstract Intent by Meteor Mirage

Meteor Mirage is no stranger to being touched by other worldly beings while sleeping, mostly without their consent. On their newest full length album, Abstract Intent, a sonic memoir; an experiment in the differentiation of relationships between intent held within the mind and intent which is explicitly spoken aloud and given life through sound and various forms of communication directed towards the limited forms of human sense perceptions. It is a statement and experiment on how, “I think this, I would like to see such,” how can my thoughts multiplied through actions move and alter forms within the living world we all experience as humans, and how does that change when a clear line of intention is communicated and put into the world simultaneously.

There is a common adage that states, “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” This is where the term Abstract takes its place, for what truly is “Good” in a world with varying tastes and dispositions. Good is but a subjective placeholder most commonly for those who apply quality to the causes and effects that directly affect their circumstances in life perceived from a positive or pleasurable point of view. If Good is an abstract quality of the subjective experiences and actions of life, then what truly matters in the relationship of one's intentions applied to their overall goals and future destinations? Do all intentions regardless of “Good” or “Bad” objectively lead to hell? Is intent not the main causality in the destination that is hell? If truth is a transient state of ever precipitating change of the present moment, then all forms of intent must truly lead to hell, what's the point of having any intention in anything? What is the point of goals, dreams, aspirations, or destinations if it all leads to hell? Is it, for without truth there is no heaven, only its placeholder, that which is the delusion of it, and for this, living in a delusion of a conceptualized heaven must be a form of hell for those incapable of seeing truth.

I set out throughout this chaotic burst of sonic progressive through-play to answer this question for myself, for no one else can ever experience another point of view through the existence of the entirety of their lives, but can often take pleasure and solace in experiencing the lives of others vicariously through a different subjective point of view at a different place in time and space.

What really defines the quality of intentions? Can intentions truly ever be clearly expressed to others, that which lies hidden within the mind? Where exactly is the mind? Most of these questions can be only answered by those seeking within themselves through experience.

All of this has come and become true within my direct living experience, but what can be said for others viewing from the outside?

Musically, Abstract: Intent is a sprawling field of tumult within a system that is has a definite beginning and ending, it is a mirror of the center of mass that through invisible strings of waves and particles that extend and retract restlessly culminating in organized cohesion of harmonies that flow through rigid and freeing time lines. Its structure is created utilizing found sounds as its primary source of bedrock to build its instruments for expressing and understanding of what was happening when it happened, creating a time capsule with softly sung harmonies giving borders to a disarray of entropy that exists here, there, now, and then. Abstract Intent is the musical equivalent of a mirage trapped in an enigma with all its pieces left out in the open to be discovered and decoded for those whose insatiable curiosity provokes their ever progressing inner discourse of idealization of what music can be defined as within their own minds.
