Parigi is the fourth of 12 in the duocapbooks albums.
Every month of 2019 Mia will publish a duo album with recent material on the language with which the other musician of the duo is identified.
Paris is registered in Paris with the Italian drummer Marcello Magliocchi, one of the most interesting artists dedicated to improvisation.
The music was recorded at the headquarters of Anis Gras - le lieu de l'autre, in March 2019 during the week of artistic residency and meeting dedicated to improvisation organized by Yoram Rosilio and the cultural association Le Fondeur de Son.
The titles contain what this duo was experiencing in this wonderful week of Parisian residence. The "Solo Solo" track is an experiment to continue their collaboration all over the world with Marcello recording a solo track in Italy and Mia recording a solo track in Berlin mixed later."Dimmi!" is the first acoustic recording of the first time the two improvised together.
MARCELLO MAGLIOCCHI - drums
MIA DYBERG - alto sax
.... about improvisation "...some reflections collected by Marcello
_The improvisation cannot be improvised.
In the present moment it is the fruit of the "architecture" of life, lived in sound, brought into play at the moment of the encounter.
It is the attempt to achieve something truly beautiful in sound, on the unique occasion of each encounter, it is a way of loving our only life with total attention. Improvisation is the art of life, not entertainment or any experiment.
The improvisation in question is an attempt to connect with the "sound", in this case it is the "first" of writing and codification, it is the starting point for unknown areas and then returning home and finding oneself in that place as if it were the first time, experiencing the sense of wonder ..... it constantly disappears, because it constantly changes and does not return, just as life happens and cannot be relived.
Herein lies true beauty.
There is no recipe for making a perfect improvisation, the true Art arises from the inspiration of the moment.
Good improvisers enter into a sort of "meditative state" to allow the noble beauty to manifest, they exist and do not exist at the same time, they are permeated by its presence ready to reveal itself at every moment, they see ... the Infinite .
The true essence is only in a vacuum. The reality of a room is found in the empty space enclosed between the walls and the ceiling, not in the ceiling and walls.
The void can do everything because it contains everything, it is the void that makes all our actions possible.
Whoever manages to create the emptiness in himself will be able to master every situation. Only in a vacuum can something truly beautiful be created.
This state is very far from self-assertion or from decanting oneself, it is rather the awareness that it is the whole work that allows us to interpret our roles.
The artist expresses universality in the particular. For the person who has the ability to share, art becomes life itself.
The present is the infinite becoming. Art must be true in the present for the people who are experiencing it.
We will try to show you that you can create beauty with all your existence, that you can create beauty with the ability to be here, together, in resonance.
The artist creates something when he creates something, but also invents a way to do it. Inventing a way of doing is inventing a way of being and acting in the world. So artistic practices are forms of politics, ways of organizing actions, perceptions, sensitives, in a continuous process of exchange, sharing and comparison ...
They affect unwanted sounds in the production of the desired sounds, the instant of time that anticipates the music, which signs the agreement of separation between the ordinary and the extraordinary. Sound as a generator of forms and form as a sound generator.
The material is freely improvised and spontanously documented without second thoughs, a peek into the musicians life and how improvisations with forms can evolve/emerge.
