Berlin Haircut by Whirle
Post-punk project Whirle's second single 'Berlin Haircut', no less hazy than its debut, weaves its shoegaze sound with a drifting, dream-pop-adjacent atmosphere that heralds Cocteau Twins and Siouxsie and the Banshees just as much as its The Jesus and Mary Chain influence.
From beginning to end, the song is blanketed in a thick layer of reverb-soaked pads and dissonant guitar, and a driving kick and shrieking layers of guitar feedback punch through the track's otherworldly vocals, which bemoan romantic abandonment and threaten an onslaught of insanity.
