This piece starts with several organic sound effect that illustrates the life outside human’s self. The composer pictures a human walking through the woods which he never once visited before. This is captured by the occurrence of sounds that gradually intensify the atmosphere until finally reach the climax. This climax portrays the amazement that “another world” exists, symbolized by “woods” – a new world which he never knew before.
In continuing his journey down the woods, he sees many things. But what makes him brood is the existence of “order” in the woods called “food chain”. This is not about good or bad, eat or being eaten, or all of the sorts. He thinks that it is a “system”, a natural “order” in life as fulfilment of roles in each of the living things.
In his journey, he decides to pause, rest his body cells, and spend the night in the woods. He realizes that it is very risky to be by himself in the woods. Wild beasts, poisonous plants, everything around him that he never encountered before. But he does not care. In his awe and love of a structure called “woods”, he is willing to embrace it all, because he knows that if his life ends there – quoting the statement before – it is a “role” in life, born – die, beginning – end.
Finally, he discovers something that he has been looking for: a “contentment of soul” found in a system called the woods, between the splashing water, chirping birds, and fluttering leaves.
