EP by Mordbear

Built on a 70s acid rock and proto-metal foundation and propelled into a modern stoner rock and metal landscape, Mordbear began as an outlet for songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist Tyler Balthaser’s desire to return to writing and performing music. Adding Nico Martinez with a standup bass background, and powerhouse drummer Erik Larson, a veteran of the East Coast hardcore scene, a potent and fresh take on the smoke-laden stoner genre began to take hold. Backing lyrics with a wide range of inspiration from literature, to nature, to mental health, Mordbear’s music is like the 300-foot flying supernatural bear inspiring the band’s name, soaring in the clouds with echo-drenched psychedelic melodies one moment, and leveling buildings with crushing riffs the next.
