Love Letter from Tunnels by Mr. Davis

I wrote you a letter, it sounded pretty good so I folded it up just like we did in middle school. I drove straight down to your house and jumped the chain-length fence, put it in your mailbox, your dog was barking and your dad was still on the couch watching reruns of Friends, your light was on so I snuck around the tiny hedge and climbed the tree, I could hear your voice so sweet, you whispered softly, that you still hate me.


I fell from the tree and I started to bleed, I left a trail of thoughts underneath all those leaves. I wanted to be more than someone you just ignored, a ghost from your past that comes back, laughs when you snore. Your dad got up off the couch and he started chasing me, I only looked back once but he gave up easy. I'll never give up on you, never give up on me.
I wrote you a letter but it sounded cheesy.
