Gentle sleep embraces slowly—lulling, pacifying—but once within that velvet grasp, the darkness seeps in. Haunted memories stir: past evils, bleak abandonments, cruel words and colder deeds. All the wretched moments condense into a weight too dense to outrun. Claw vainly at the edges of the night, caught beneath its surface, the sun a distant myth.
