Gold by Muddy allein zuhaus

With some songs, it's totally plain and simple what they are about. They are straightforward and their meaning is crystal clear. This song is not such a song. I got hold of it on December 6th (Nikolaustag in Germany) at about 1 a.m. in the morning, after a good movie and a glass of wine (or two). I heard and sang it countless times since then and I still can't figure it out 100%. I very much appreciate that. Recording and mixing the track, I gave it my best. I hope that comes across and you like "Gold" as much as I do.

Manchmal gibt's Lieder, da ist einem völlig klar, worum's geht. Die sind plakativ und eindeutig und bringen alles auf den Punkt. Dieses Lied ist kein solches Lied. Am Nikolaustag 2022, gegen 1 Uhr morgens, nach einem guten Film und bei einem Gläschen Wein (oder zwei), hab ich es zu fassen gekriegt. Seither hab ich es unzählige Male gesungen und gehört und es erschließt sich mir immer noch nicht ganz. Das rechne ich dem Lied hoch an. Bei der Aufnahme und dem Mixing hab ich mein Bestes gegeben. Ich hoffe, das kommt ein bisschen rüber und "Gold" gefällt Euch genauso gut wie mir.
