When the first storm broke over Mount Pelion, we knew this album would drag us somewhere primal.

We spent three months recording in a half-collapsed shepherd's hut on the mountainside, tracking guitars while thunder rattled the tin roof and bouzouki lines as rain hammered the stones. That wildness is what "Fateswept" became - a storm-drenched odyssey through the Greece we feel in our bones, not the postcard version.

The eight tracks follow wanderers lost between worlds, battling floods, wildfires, and the watchful gaze of gods who still haunt these hills. We wanted each song to feel like standing at the edge of a forest during lightning - that moment where awe and terror blur together.

From the smoldering intensity of "Ash and Laurel" to the thunderous climax of "Salt Against Bronze," we've woven together the traditional sounds of our homeland with the heaviness we crave. Lyra and bouzouki dance with down-tuned guitars and war drums. We recorded actual amphorae being shattered during "Pyrrhic Flood" and dragged microphones through olive groves at dawn for "Bracken and Anthemion."

The lyrics shift between Greek and English like a fever dream, sometimes mid-verse. We're telling stories that have been told around fires for thousands of years, but with the urgency of now. When Yannis screams "The gods are watching!" in "Beneath Arkades," he's talking about forces we still feel when we're alone in these ancient places.

This isn't just mythology for us - it's the feeling when the sky darkens too fast and you remember how small you are.

We brought in a small chorus of village elders for the chants in "Omenfeast" - they didn't understand our metal side but knew every traditional vocal part instinctively. That tension between old and new is the heartbeat of this album.

"Fateswept" isn't background music. It demands your full attention, like a storm rolling in from the Aegean. By the time you reach "Olive Fracture," we hope you'll feel like you've traveled somewhere both ancient and completely new - exhausted but somehow stronger.

The gods may be cruel, the elements wilder still, but there's something about facing them head-on that changes you. That's what we're chasing with every riff and howl.
