Get In by Neighbourly

The concept of this EP was simply to have fun together making it. We all live busy lives being pulled in different directions so each of us had different levels of commitments in regards to songwriting for this project. However, “Get In” perfectly captures the spontaneous and silly energy our group can portray when we’re “egging” each other on to create.
Neighbourly has always had fun in the studio, but this record definitely had the most laughs as we explored faster tempos and quirky synth tones. Every song started with an intuitive bass arrangement where then every other instrument was overdubbed in an isolation room. The drums came last which is a first for the group and was an exciting challenge for Scott.
Lyrically the project had very loose boundaries including basic Spanish performances and unintelligible vocal chops.
The artwork is inspired by Neighbourly’s love of cats, and the model is Tammy, a cat that each member has lived with in some point of their life. The de facto Neighbourly cat in other words.
