Recently, on the 13th of May, I turned nineteen years old and, a day beforehand, came into possession of an Elektron Digitone. I won't get too into its capabilities here because you can read about them extensively elsewhere, but allow me to compare its compositional language to that of the piano. The piano is a relatively fixed range of sounds arranged in real time across its fully-polyphonic, unbendable voices by composers to be transfixed into the minds of listeners by performers. Therefore, piano performance is predominantly defined by the notes themselves within this range, how they are arranged and articulated, rather than unique timbral exploration as has always been the case in electronic music. The Digitone is my closest equivalent to the piano: so many have already interpreted its language, and I'm here to do the exact same thing. Welcome to Lagosonomorphic.
