Freedom by No Quarter

well what a journey this turned out to be!!!! we started as chris, matt, dan, paris and myself and are now chris, myself, darcy, paul and josh!! there was no bad exits or anything. paris just kinda vanished and matt and dan couldn't commit the time anymore once we got into it.

i remember ringing chris one day and saying "man, i've got music for about six songs, let'd do another ep". without even missing a beat he said "na fuck that let's also do some old songs were weren't happy with and make an album". and here we are all this time later. i contacted darcy and we recorded the guitar demos for the seven new songs. they were handed on to matt, dan, paris and chris. after a while paris was gone so darcy stepped up to the plate. he'd been a mate of ours for a long time and used to play in bands with us waaay back. so it was a natural fit. it was unknown at that time but eventually after a few dramas he would end up taking over the whole album, it sat stagnant for 8 months at one stage which was pretty hard. but once he took over everything got more relaxed. at about this stage mat and dan were struggling and two of our other mates josh and paul started turning up to all our sessions and boozing up with us. it wasn't long before they were having theyre input into songs and stuff. they'd also been in bands we played with from way back. so again it was just natural.

and that brings us to here!!! darcy has done an amazing job at mixing this. doing an album was more work then i ever imagined. i thought after two ep's it'd be a piece of cake. but there were times i never thought this would see the light of day. i hope use enjoy every minute of it. thanks to chris for standing by my side from the get go, thanks to darcy for making this happen and becoming a brother, josh a paul for refreshing things in this new chapter, and thanks to matt, dan, paris and cameron. your parts in this journey are not forgotten ~micka~
